What we all want to believe is that Senator McCain was this fire breathing conservative, and I know, I know, there's the 90% statistic, but wake up. Joe Lieberman and John McCain aren't the far right bank of conservative politics.
Joe Lieberman is a responsible, dedicated US Senator who made a rational choice on what he thought was the best direction for the country. Turns out more people than not disagreed with him and he lost.
But it was still his choice to make, so why do we stand in judgment of it? Because we feel he was disloyal, right? Fair enough, but let's not pull out the yardstick just because someone had the audacity to disagree with the caucus.

How can I give you insight into what it is like here? I guess in some ways it is a bit like - wonderful company, but strange food and the toilet facilities dont bear mentioning!
Today a goat wandered into the leaders conference as I was preaching - but it quickly saw that the gathering was aimed at sheep only - and so exited rapidly via the side door. But at that same meeting the pastors and leaders all got down on their knees and repented before God of preaching a gospel.
Seems a small price to pay to see something like that, dont you think? God is truly on the move here, despite 
the heat and the dust. 

I got to meet the of the town. (Every town seems to have one). He was a friendly God-fearing man - who gladly knelt down with us in his own throne-room to pray to the King of all kings in Heavenly courts. Many Government officials are welcoming of the gospel here.

Judging by the stares I get, you might think I was the first white man in this part of Africa since the time of Stanley and Livingstone! It is a town of some thousands, mostly living under rusty tin roofs that stretch into the distance.

Every night the crowds troop in their hundreds up the hill for the Outreach.  Speakers blare incomprehensible words and music - plus a jungle of rythms that might make even Elvis Presley trip over his feet. The usual volume is what I call constant distortion, but I seem to be the only one that notices. The unashamedly joyful dancing and singing quite simply puts us staid Westerners to shame.
There is a man up the power pole, seemingly patching our sparse lighting into the main grid with his bare fingers. Why he has not electrocuted himself and half the town I do not know - but I seem to be the only one showing the least bit of concern - so I get back to praying over what my message will be tonight. 
The lights flicker on - then off - then on. Our electrician friend reappears, looking (I must say) surprisingly well. Sometimes the lights go out for minutes at a time, and we end up preaching in the darkness by torchlight under the stunning African stars.  
These are moments that are hard to describe.
By the close of the evening, hundreds of these beautiful simple people will have repented of their sins - all honor and praise to our glorious Father of Lights.  I dont know if you can tell, but I love this place. I love this continent. I love these people. They have a simple trust and humility that the West has long ago forgotten. They have a genuine hunger for God and for His truth - and they will often walk miles in the heat to show it.

So here I am in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Lightyears from the meltdowns of Wall Street, far from the Madding crowd, simply bringing truth to these wonderful hungry people. Where else would I rather be?

Perhaps as the West sinks slowly into her long slough of despond, it will be God-hungry places like Africa that will rise and shine. I can certainly see it.   She has been in the dungeon for so long. But we have reached the hour when many that are first shall be last, and many that are last shall be first. A radical
shift is underway.

Yesterday, I had one of those wonderful privileges afforded me as a Pastor. I had the blessed privilege of watching the sweet Lord Jesus "wed" together two young folks who are deeply in love. It was a beautiful day!

The Bride was beautiful, the church building was beautiful, the bridesmaids were beautiful, and yes, even the groomsmen were OK! It was an incredible day.

Others because they are fascinated by His wisdom and ability to teach. Then there are always those cynics and critics in the crowd. Most would agree this man is "much loved", as they watch the large crowds of people thronging to be with the Carpenter from Galilee.

He's just returned from an incredibly successful venture to the hinter lands of Galilee where He's taught and healed many including a leper who could not keep his mouth shut about this incredible Prophet from Nazareth. The Lord Jesus is suddenly incredibly popular with the multitudes. Why? They've not seen anything like this in their lives!

Now He once again returns to the home of Simon Peter and Andrew (Mk 1:29) and someone leaks the news that He's back in town. Here they come . . . huge crowds come from everywhere. If they couldn't walk themselves, they were ferried on homemade mats by loving friends and weary family. I want to prove there were Baptist in that 1st Century Palestine. There were a couple of guys who had a friend who was paralyzed. He couldn't walk. He was bedridden. They wanted to just get Him to Jesus, because they hoped Jesus might be able to help their friend. As they made their way across the countryside to Simon Peter and Andrew's Momma's house, they were fascinated to realize they were late (you see, I told you they were Baptist). As they walked down the cobblestone Roman streets into the city, they saw a discouraging sight. Crowds of people clogged the doors of this one house. Throngs of people pushed and shoved trying to just hear what was being said.

"How in the world will we ever get him to Him?" they thought to themselves.

"What do we do?" one asked.

Finally, their leader said, "Y'all (he's from southern Palestine) wait right here, and I'll be right back."

With that the fellow laid down his corner of the friend's bedroll and walked down the street disappearing into the crowds. He had been gone about five minutes when suddenly he came from the direction of the Sea. For some reason he'd walked completely around the house and now he was back.

"Where'd you go?" one asked.

"I went to look for options. If we're going to get him to Jesus, we've got to take a chance. Y'all follow me. Let's pick up the bedroll, and I'll show you what I found."

So the guys did as their courageous friend suggested. They picked their paralyzed friend up and began to make their way around to the back of the house. Amazingly, people crowded every doorway and every window, but around in the back of the house, not one soul was found. But there were the stairs leading to the roof.

One asks, "What are you going to do?"

Before too much was said, the leader had already begun to climb the ladder.

"Hold on, Brother" they said to the paralytic. You've got to help us!"

I am just wondering if there are many citizens bank customers that are having the same problem.
I have been a customer for 25 years now, with 3 accounts, 2 personal accounts and 1 business account which I have had for 2 years and never a problem until about 8 months ago. I noticed the bank has been bought out by other banks many times over the past couple of years and our branch has a new manager every couple of months.
I have had approx. 4 really horrible incidents in the past year alone.
Several months ago I had made a deposit with cash back, being in a rush, I failed to count all the money in my envelope not realizing that I was 100.00 short. When I got home a short while after, I counted the money and was missing 100.00. I called the bank after searching every inch of my bag and car before I called to be sure it wasnt me and was told by the manager that I probably spend it shopping somewhere and forgot which made me feel like an idiot. Sure enough the next day the 100.00 was deposited into my account, without a phone call or an apology or just to let me know that they made a mistake. Ok, well not that big of a deal.
The second time I ran into a problem was when I was making a $600.00 withdraw from the citizens bank ATM, the machine made the same kind of noise it makes when counting the money before it comes out, only nothing came out. I called the bank on my cell to report the problem, thinking I did something wrong with an unfriendly mans voice on the other end stating yes, your account is fine and you have enough funds (which I knew to begin with) and that it sounds like the machine is not functioning properly. SO, THE BANK DEDUCTED THE 600.00 from my account BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE THE MONEY. It was a relief knowing that I was not an idiot. So I asked if he could do something on his end so that I can make another withdraw without having the transaction counted twice, which would bring my account to a negative and he claimed that there is nothing at all that can be done. I would have to wait 24 hrs. and the money will be deposited into my account. 24 hours went by and no money, 48 hours went by, no money. I called the bank and was told that the person I spoke with gave me the wrong information and that it takes approx 3 weeks to investigate this and I would have to fill out some forms and file a claim before receiving the money. Sorry maam, this is our policy Ok, I could do nothing at this point but wait for the forms to come in the mail and go from there, 2 weeks went by, no forms, but did notice the bank did deposit the 600.00 into my account, again no communication, wrong information and just left me out to hang. SO, WHO IS THE REAL IDIOT HERE???????
HANG IN THERE, I KNOW THIS IS BORING BUT I HAVE MORE. AND I AM HOPING THAT THERE ARE FOLKS OUT THERE ARE HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND WILL SPEAK OUT.

I am very well aware of my automatic deposits and withdrawls 3x daily I call the automated system to check my balances because of so much activity in this account, morning, noon and night.
Make a long story short there has been atleast 3 different times in the past 6 months that Citizens has charged me overdraft fees, how could that be, when I called 3x every day and also made cash depostits at that time, AND HAVE NOT USED MY ATM CARD, the automated system never said Did I say that I call the bank atleast 3x per day to get my balances? the first overdraft fee was 300.00 of which they refunded 50%, 2 months later 500.00 overdraft fee because the first 245.00 overdraft fee did not cover my deposit to cover the overdraft fee so the next day they charged 245.00 for that overdraft. I hope that I am making sense. Anyway, guess what happened today after calling the bank daily and checking my balances and registers, another overdraft fee. I am not the kind of person to write complaint letters and dont have the time, but would just like to know if there are more citizens customers out there who were also made to feel like idiots when the bank made .
